Have you ever felt that no matter how much effort you put into everything, it just doesn't seem to be enough? Or that you don't feel deserved of an accomplishment you just made?

These thoughts and feelings are normal. You are not alone in feeling like this.

Imposter syndrome reflects a belief that you’re an inadequate and incompetent failure despite evidence that indicates you’re skilled and quite successful. The imposter syndrome can also create feelings of fraudulence where one thinks that she/he is not as skilled or accomplished as people think or as skilled as compared to people in the same situation.

Here are some TOP TIPS to deal with it:

1) Awareness- Turn on your mindfulness button and notice when such thoughts crop up. Look out for your triggers.

Here is a freebie for you- It is a thought record diary. Fill in the table as and when a thought pesters you- You will understand your thinking pattern.

2) It's okay to not know everything every time- Remind yourself that not being successful at one task does not guarantee failure in future tasks.

3) Reward list- It can be a good idea to create a reward checklist for yourself. This will be a tangible reminder of your accomplishments. You don't believe in them? It's fine-start by acknowledging their presence- that's a good start!

4) Vent out the negative thoughts and feelings- Negative thoughts and feelings of inadequacy are like poison to your game. It is best to empty your mind and let positive thoughts in. Vent to someone you trust dearly or write it down. Venting these feelings are like unburdening yourself from an array of doubts. It's better that they be on the paper than in your mind.

5) Replace- Every time you say this to yourself- "I am a loser." REPLACE it with "My mind is saying that I am a loser". This will help you understand that you are not your thoughts.

6) Seek Therapy- It is important to understand that seeking therapy is as normal as having a pill for cold. If you feel you need to speak with an expert, feel free to get in touch!

Believing in yourself takes practice. It is like flowing water. Flowing water surpasses the obstacles with ease because it keeps going. Stagnant water on the other hand becomes stale. Let your belief and your potential be like that of a flowing river.

You know more than you give yourself credit for. Remember this as often as you need to. This will keep you going in the best direction you choose for yourself!
